Sensory Deprivation- Eliza Briggs

I wore noise-canceling headphones for 2 and a half hours and just painted. I thought I would be painting to the sounds of silence, but it was a very inward experience. I was painting to the rhythm of my breathing and my heartbeat and the noises my joints make when they move. I was alone with my thoughts and I found my self paying attention to simple things, like how it felt to move my arm up and down when I made strokes. I was more aware of my body. It was almost like a form of meditation.
