This is not a book - Jaiden Kinsey ABSENT BUT READ

The challenge was to find some I would feel proud of, I feel like I would need to work on them longer in order to do this. There was no audience in mind when I made this. I will be unable to make our last class Zoom meeting, but thank you so much for the amazing semester! Love you guys! Stay safe!

This is not a book- Justin Cresswell

I started the assignment with the Endurance Test page, which has you hold the book above thy head for as long as you can. I was holding the book and got bored, so I decided to do more pages while I waited. When I discovered that there was a way to hold the book and my arms above my head and rest, so I could do it indefinitely, so I decided that it would a good idea to do all the rest of the pages with my hands up, doing the endurance test.

Transcript: It is 1 am on 4/25/2020. I have just finished some homework, and now I’m working on this for class. I’ll be moving the rest of my stuff out of my dorm today, as COVID19 has changed a lot. I’m watching Ray play Heart’s Medicine again.
2AM--still in bed. Ange told me we need to leave by 10:30 sharp. Might go to the garage to unpack the boxes I forgot. I’m tired and hungry. I only ate some bread a few hours ago, I forgot to eat all day again.
2:26 -- The boxes just had a few little things, mostly padding for fragiles.
3 am -- Paris just asked me to assign characters a dragon counterpart. I ask her why she wants to kill me. We continue talking for a bit until she tries to go to bed. She says the dragon question was for me to have something nice to think about while I work on finals since she’s trying not to distract me too much. I feel bad that she feels she couldn’t speak to me much today.
4 -- finally trying to sleep. Fuzzy thoughts about a lot of things. Old regrets from high school, new considerations about how later today will go. I start reading a little more to forget.
9:30 am -- Ange woke me up. She tells me we need to go in an hour, and I can’t eat in the new car, so I gotta eat soon. I still stay in bed.
10:10 -- Finally up because my alarm went off. I get dressed, get my stuff together. After ten minutes I grab a roll to eat until we leave.
10:36 -- we pull out of the garage.
10:50 -- We’ve been on the road for a bit. I start documenting some of the missed time marks.
11:31 -- Just past Nephi. There’s controlled burns happening along the hills.
12 pm -- We’ve pulled into the Suites.
2:30 pm -- we finished packing everything up. Kailey showed up to help at around 1:30. I document this time on the drive over to the Humanities building.
3 -- We finish packing my printmaking drawer up. I show Ange some of my assignments that are modeled in the hall. Adam offers to take them out for me, but I’m not worried about it. They’ll be safer here, and I’ll be coming back for them anyway.
3:20 -- back on the road, close to nephi again. Ange told me a story about one of her old moves, how she lost a new pair of nikes on the road through Alabama. She still misses those nikes.
4:30 -- Just unloaded the car. I don’t miss apartment stairs. I’m glad I only have one flight to travel up here.
4:40 -- I get into the shower. I feel gross, as moving heavy objects in the heat tends to do. Spotify choses some good songs this time around. 8 Graves, wallows, Alter., Unlike Pluto, The Family Crest.
5:05 -- Out of the shower and dressed. I plan on organizing. We’ll see.
5:25 -- Have not organized yet. I’m just hungry.
6:13 -- Finished eating some soup ramen. Might finally start organizing now that I’ve eaten. Spotted “Fool of You” by Meltt in my recommended feed. It’s not bad.
7:42 -- organized my room pretty well. Cleaned and organized various crates and the plaid ottoman. Combined boxes, tossed some stuff out I know won’t be used anymore.
9:30 pm -- I haven’t been doing much. Relaxing, talking to Paris. Ange asks if I want to go get something to eat. I agree, it’ll be nice to have a lazy dinner. She’s been napping since I took my shower, and we’re both feeling lazy.
9:50 -- Ange is really distracted. She keeps checking her phone during every stop. This isn’t very characteristic of her to be so glued to it. We pick up our food.
10 - I finally ask what the matter is. Ethan isn’t feeling well. Relationship troubles. I drop the subject after I express my concern for him. I steal a chip from the bag even though I’m not supposed to eat in the car, but I made sure there wouldn’t be any crumbs by shoving the whole chip in my mouth. Ange makes an offended “HEY” but she’s also laughing, so I know it’s okay. I already knew I wasn’t going to do it again.
11 -- I’m just picking at my food now. I already ate all of the beans and most of the rice, but I can’t decide yet if I want to eat more.
12 -- I’ve just been wasting time. Paris and I talk about other games we could play together once we’re free from finals. I talk some more about Yugioh again, because she got me started on talking about it a few days ago and now I’m hooked again. We start making plans to watch Season 0, because it’s wild as fuck and I know exactly how much information I can throw at her to get her interested. The Pharaoh setting people on fire twice is pretty tantalizing information for anybody.
1 -- I’m playing Duel Links. I have been for a few days. There’s new content out and I want to play it. I keep buying card packs. I want a Blue Eyes deck that works. Assault Wyvern is now apart of all the decks I play regularly that have high-level dragon cards. I might actually play as Jou more.
2 -- Fiddling around mostly. Jamming out to music while I talk to a friend about what I’m planning for a creative writing assignment.

Transcript: Another video game-like dream. I worked somewhere full of shelves and cabinets, we (I don’t know who else was there with me) were concerned about a break-in. My boss vanished, the lights went out, and everything suddenly looked old and decayed. There was a sickly, dull, yellow-green lighting to everything, dust and other particles floating in the air. A ghost of a girl kept flashing between the shelves, stark white but still difficult to see. I had a bat, and had to start fighting weird zombie-like people covered in blackened tendrils and small yellow spores or boils. I remember one coming at me, taking up my entire field of vision as he opened his mouth wide and let out a garbled yell. My bat breaks while fighting him, but I find a hunter’s knife. It’s very large, the half close to the hilt is serrated, and I immediately start swinging wildly at another enemy. It’s a woman this time. As I struggled with her, I remember thinking “if I buttonmash fast enough, I won’t get hit."
