Creative environment

My creative space By Bethany Redmond

My Creative Environment

 Aly Barwick

My creative space would be much like my room, which is where most of my creative progression both physically and psychologically. My dream space would include my bed, blankets and stuffed animals in my room to help create this environment. Walls and seats against walls would have excellent back support, like how my bed is right now. The home environment would do me wonders.

Although my space would mainly be warm carpet there would be a spot of hardfloor where painting and messiness is encouraged even further.

My space will also have many monitors on the wall for easy access to the internet and inspiration I get from there. Speakers will also be able to be the right volume while projecting youtube videos and podcasts to further inspire me.

Safety won’t be a problem at all, though there will obviously be a lock into the room along with the windows adorned with very covering blinds. I don’t see many potential risk factors alongside my comfortable and homely creative environment.

My ideal creative space would be in a teardrop trailer. This makes my studio portable and cozy! It has stained glass windows, which reflect rainbows inside, on the funky rugs. It is filled with all my things: guitar, polaroids, flowers, painting supplies, shoes, etc. Whenever I need to get out of my comfort zone, I can drive across the USA and find a new adventure.

My creative environment is my desk. My dream studio would include my laptop, sketchbooks, and music for inspiration, and snacks as well.

Creative Environment. Bryson J

My creative space is anywhere I can hear music and hear people and their problems which helps me find things to make. That could help them out. But the best place I would say is where I can just be myself and build things people will not try to build.

Creative environment Alyssa Jackson

my creative environment is anywhere. I get most creative being in nature, walking around busy streets, skateparks, thrift stores, etc. I love taking photos of anything and everything. it makes me feel very happy and safe.

Personal Manifesto - Chloe Gwilliam

  • Save pictures of other people’s creations that you like

  • Keep a journal and scribble down your ideas as soon as you have them

  • Try new things, especially if you don’t want to

  • Get into the head of a ten-year-old

  • Listen to music

  • Be flexible / willing to grow

  • No mistakes, just happy accidents

  • Be comfortable being yourself

  • Bounce ideas off of other people but take critiques with a grain of salt

  • Take action and time to get stuff done

  • Look at it differently; turn it upside down or on its’ side

  • Fidget (dance, do origami, doodle)

  • Stall settling on an idea

  • Create what you love

Personal Manifesto by Aly Barwick

Aly Barwick - Personal manifesto

-Look at your work from different angles physically as well as psychologically.

-Its okay to not have ideas. Just starting is the first step. Just start.

-If you're in a rut, think of what a different person or character would do in that situation.

-You only need your mind to be creative, but remember the mind is forgetful. Talk and write to grapple your thoughts more thoroughly in your mind.

-Settle down in comfortable areas, but if that does not work, force yourself to go and socialize.

-Be mindful of others. Creativity is wonderful, but not to the extent where it is hurting others. Be kind.

-Only spend your free time on pieces and works that you are interested in. Otherwise, won’t life just be an endless void of never being stimulated positively?

-Dream like Aubrey. Have her confidence. Take initiative out of her motivation.

-Talk. Just talk. This may be a hard thing to do but overall, it doesn’t just make your work better, it makes your life better.

-If your work does not seemingly have a purpose, that's okay. As long as someone else thinks there is a purpose and deliberate work you will be just fine.

-Do your research and be appreciative of the cultures throughout the world.

Personal Manifesto

By Bethany Redmond

·        * Remember every second is a new start- You don’t have to wait for the new year to start fresh, you don’t even have to have to wait till a new day, start now.

·         *Be who you need to be not who others want you to be- You can’t live your life wishing that you were someone you’re not. Don’t let expectations cloud who you are. Just be who you are and that’s all you need.

·         *Leave the dreams to sleeping unless you have goals to back them up with-Dreams are often times hidden underneath doubt, uncertainty, and insecurity. Let your dreams drive you to where you want to go in life.

·         *Get to know yourself-Have a steady relationship with yourself because you have been there since you were born and you’re the last when you die.

·         *Get a support system-surround yourself with people who care about you and will support you no matter what.

·         *Do hugs not drugs- Don’t harm yourself in anyway, take care of your body and your body will take care of you. Help others do the same.

·         *Do what makes you happy- Life is too short to not do stuff you like

·         *You miss every shot you don’t take- Try stuff out shoot your shot you never know, you could make it.

·         *Cry often- These can be tears of joy or sadness, either way let your emotions run its course.

·         *Help others- Remember the times people have helped you, and you can do the same for others. Just remember your mental health goes first.

·         *Don’t let other peoples crap invade your life- Again life is too short to deal with people who drag you down.

·         *Work hard, play hard- Work till you are satisfied with what you have done then sit back and enjoy what you have down.
