one image one minute-Alexander Baxter

“Denali and Wonder Lake” By Ansel Adams
The photo is in black and white tones, it depicts a mountain in the background.  There is an incredible amount of detail in the photo, we can see snow drifts, shadows on the hills and in the mountains. The hill shows the strands of grass, areas of large deep shadows and spots of dirt. In the lake we see reflections of trees, sunlight hills and the mountain. The small amount of illumination shows the clouds and imperfections in the atmosphere. The foremost ground in the photo is the darkest, the midground in the photo shows us the mid tones in the photograph the mountain is the brightest and further away area in the photograph. The contrast between the sky and the darker tones of the sky and mountains is fantastic. The width of the photo allows the viewer to explore the details and scenery that the photographer captured.
