A Storm and a Rose
Cold strikes, Wind blows. You stand in a storm's eye. Alone and weary. Delicate yet strong. You wait, and wait, and wait. "When will it come?" You ask. The wind answers, "When it is ready" Unsatisfied and exasperated you wait. Seeping roots deeper and deeper. Nothing for so long. Time seems frozen but for the drops of water crashing down. Clash! clang! creak! It comes and rips at you, Tearing away your softest features. Leaving nothing but thorns. It hurts, but you know this day would have come despite the storm. Still you struggle on and whisper, "This is not the end." The storm slowly disappears from your surroundings. The little hope you had strengthens. You may now begin again.
I am extremely fond of poems especially in story form. So I decide to write a short story about this picture that sounds like a poem. I wanted to embody the life of a Rose and what happens when the weather changes. This can also be taken as a metaphor. As someone goes through life there will always be something that stands in their way. But as long as you don't let the challenge break your spirit, you can always come back and try again.
