Creative Environments - Jamyn Scarlet

Risky Environment:
Isolated shelter in an arctic area.
In this space I would only be able to spend a very limited amount of time outdoors, I would have an extremely limited amount of human interaction and as a result a limited exposure to any sort of culture or outside ideas. I probably wouldn't have internet access and maybe a couple books if I was lucky. This place would make it extremely difficult to look at and study other artworks and would also take away access to news.

Safe Environment:
Art Gang
My ideal environment would be a large group of artists, from all over the world. Each person would agree to make a space or share space where another artist could live and work for a limited amount of time where ever they live. Each person would submit when they wanted to stay at their own space and when they could travel to a different one. Ideally I would have musicians, writers, dancers, philosophers, and all sorts of different people from different practices, as well as visual artists, to contribute to each others creative practice. With this residency hot potato kind of group of people everyone would make new connections and friends as well as being able to explore new places and cultures and getting to bounce ideas off of all sorts of people with different backgrounds.
