Set of Instructions - Sage Johnson

A Tall Glass of Awareness In the Presence of the Unaware

Step 1: Fill a large glass with water

Step 2: Go about your day and take this glass
everywhere

Step 3: When you arrive in a populated area,
take a sip of water,
not too quiet and not loud enough for it to seem suspicious.

Step 4: Take a large gulp and swallow it harshly,
not harsh enough for it to hurt but loud enough for it to be heard.

Step 5: After the gulp make a short sigh as if it was the most refreshing water you have ever had.

Experience:

I first performed this experiment in front of my roommate Madison and it was followed by the best accidental spit take to date. I found that in small a person to person engagement it is hard to go without being noticed. I discussed with my roommate about possible better places in doing my experiment. We came to the conclusion that a public bathroom would be the most out of place to drink water and I would be able to control my laughter a lot better with no face to face interaction.

I camped out in a restroom with a echo and waited.
For my second experience, someone had just come in to maybe look at their reflection or something very stagnate. While in the stall I completed the set of instructions and it was only followed by a sniffle and the person quietly leaving. My water drinking in the bathroom had gone unnoticed.

For my third experience, A heard a small group of people come in the bathroom, this was a gathering place for them. As they chatted about things that happened in classes, I did my set of instructions. There was a long awkward silence, and then a burst of laughter flooded the bathroom as they scattered out. I found this the hardest to complete without laughing and nearly choked.
