This piece was made with pieces of 2x4. pages taken from The Bible where God actually kills people. except for the page where "10" is which is the only page that speaks of Satan killing anyone, and it was by God's command even then. The number "2821364" is the number of times God is officially recorded actually killing someone himself. while the "10" represents the number of times Satan is officially recorded actually killing someone himself. Beyond this i added gold colored nails to represent the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

This is not meant to criticize Christian beliefs. but to inform Christians about what exactly they believe in.

If I were to attempt to do this again, I would use better paints, not spray paint, and design the numbers better, possibly also carefully highlight the verses which speak of the murders on new otherwise unmarked bible pages, I would also wrap the bible pages all the way arouind it and make it much larger, a real installation including all the pages in the bible which mention God killing someone. Instead of hanging on a wall it would be made into a monolith. I would also like to install it upside down at least at first to drip red colored epoxy all around it, so when its placed upright, It will look like blood moving upwards.And obviously use much larger golden nails. possibly golden street number signs for the larger number, and white ones for the smaller number.
