My dad sends me old pictures of my family often. I think it's when they come up in Facebook memories. I love that he does that because a lot of them I was too young to remember and it's cool to look back. I like this picture because it captures my family dynamic well. We tease each other and joke. I don't know why that sign was there, but my parents would of course have taken the opportunity to get a silly photo and us kids would play along and make pouty faces. The memories stored in photos are so valuable.

This beautiful photograph was taken by my dad, Stott Mcdonel Deplidge Millichamp Barwick. The subject matter is my adopted little sister, Mikelle Sophia Barwick. The image is wild and carefree, perfectly timed and candid as are all of my favorite photographs taken from my father I love. Bear Lake is the place the image was taken and overall I feel as though this one image represents my family. Candid, carefree, energetic with motion, beautifully timed. Every member of my family has been so blessed with this little girl who brings so much into our lives even if she is a little unpredictable. No matter what, her placement in both this image and our family is just right. We visit Bear Lake every so often as a fun family event so that we can indulge in each other's company, so having the picture taken here makes it that much more meaningful.

Boyd Newton McNeill, my grandpa was always creating something. Whether it was a picture frame, a wooden car, or a new shed for his yard. There was always a project going on. And every project was finished to perfection. If he just needed to nail a board to a barn door to fix it, he would also route an edge to the board to give it that finishing touch. He always said, “you might as well make it look nice and do it right.” It never occurred to me that all of these things that he created would still be a part of him even after he was gone. We have the memories but the things he created will never leave. My grandpa made each grandkid, including me, a wooden rocking horse. And now, even though he isn’t here on earth, we still have a piece of him with us. Anything grandpa builds will last you forever.

The wolf is my family’s sprite animal. Why I chose the wolf was because of how I relate to the wolf. The wolf in me is that lone wolf but you don’t see the family that is behind me. I am strong I am the loyal wolf that is there for his friends and family. I like to be funny as much as possible. But I hid from the world because of what people will think of me. I am stronger with every struggle I deal with. I get smarter with from learning from my past mistakes. I am that kind person you see in the background. I will be the person that backs you up. I am the wolf who tries to make a change in this world. I am the wolf who likes to be free. I like to be creative and make things only I can see. I am the wolf.

This is my great grandma and grandpa Fikstad. My grandpa died when I was just a couple months old so I never really knew him. My grandma passed away almost 2 years ago. On my grandma’s 89th birthday, my whole family went to her house to celebrate. After getting our food we were walking back to our seat, I walked past a table with a couple of my dad’s uncles sitting at it. There was a man leaning against the table and everyone was laughing but I couldn’t hear him laughing. He looked at me and smiled and I smiled back. I later realized that was my grandpa’s spirit. I never knew why I saw him until recently. I believe my grandparents are my guardian angels and are protecting me. this is the only picture I have with all of us together so it’s really special to me.
