Sleepless

Like many people I move around when I sleep; certain positions are more sleep conducive than others, and I thought it would be fun to record my movements in paint. I took 3 mini naps in 30 minute increments applying a different color of paint to my body and laying in a different position for each mini nap. The patterns my body made were rather interesting and I learned a lot about what my body does when I'm sleeping.

Attraction and Repulsion First draft

I have been thinking a lot lately about the things people say and the way it can effect someone. I noticed that people can be so cruel behind someones back but really polite to there face. I wanted to make sugar cookies because they are generally something that is given to someone. On the cookies I wrote insults. These are the things people say behind someones back. I took something that is attractive (sugar cookies) and put something truly repulsive (an insult) on it.

Bed Head

Domesticated

All 8 of us Trishelle, Matt, Mark, Amanda, Becky, Stephen, Katelin, and Kimberly took shifts living in our student art gallery for 1 week. We ate in there, slept in there, watched movies and did homework. It was a strange feeling being on display at all times; people constantly wanted to be entertained regardless of the hour or if you were trying to do something. On the other hand some people weren't comfortable viewing our exhibit, and they would stay out in the hall and only glance in at what we were doing. We had an interesting week and learned quite a bit about those around us, their comfort levels, and why or why not someone might choose to view our show. I learned the likelihood of visitors coming to view our show increased if they were friends of those in the show, they thought you were sleeping (which I faked several times to observe people), or if they were intrigued by the bizarreness of the temporary apartment display. This was truly a unique experience and not one any of us will forget anytime soon.

Ten Years After.

I live to do good.
Good is defined by the stars i earn after a day clawing around just to make it where others already are.
My efforts are materialized in stars.

Art Manifesto

Art is something with a purpose. It isn't shocking just to be shocking or vulgar just for the sake of being vulgar. It means something to the creator. It's something that makes you think, laugh, cry, stare, question, or simply visually enjoy. It's something inside an artist that they let out for others to experience. Art is whatever, but it is not a cheap cop out.
